Glowing opportunities

"During this activity Davis Gray and Kyle Lewis displayed the correct way to cut vegetables and how to handle knives. After the demo we prepared tacos for the club members," explained Katherine Morris. Photo courtesy Katherine Morris.

The Hospitality Management Club is hosting a glow bowling fundraiser on April 9. From nine pm to 11pm individuals can purchase 12 dollar tickets for two hours of glow bowling. Bowling shoes and door prizes are included in the price.

The event is being held at Town and Country Lanes on Stefko Blvd. The club encourages people of all ages to attend. All proceeds go towards the clubs yearly educational event to The National Restaurant Show (NRA) show in Chicago.

NRA is an educational and networking event where students can learn more about working in the hospitality industry. The event consists of cooking demos, a wide variety of food samples, new and upcoming trends for the industry and more. The club also plans to tour upscale hotels and dine in Chicago’s finest eateries.

“This trip enlightens our club members of the different levels of hospitality,” stated Katherine Morris, fundraising chair and restaurant management major.

The Hospitality Management Club will also be volunteering side by side with Eta Sigma Delta at the Cops n’ Kids Celebration of Reading on April 18. This event is in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the grand opening of the Fowler center in south side Bethlehem.

“We are going to be supplying about 10-15 volunteers for the event,” Morris stated.

The club is also in the process of raising money for a scholarship fund.

Morris concluded, “People should attend [our events] because you will be surrounded by good people and ultimately a good time! We are excited to see everyones smiling faces there!”
