By Randall Bolles

Democracy will not die unless we the people let it.

The 2018 Midterm Elections are here on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 and the deadline to register to vote is October 9th, 2018. What does that mean? It means that if you have a desire for change in our current political climate, or would like the status quo to continue, you should get registered to vote and get to the polls on election day.

Midterm elections decide the legislature of the United States through the House of Representatives and the Senate. Senate members serve six-year terms and House members serve two. Midterm Elections in the United States occur ever four years, this year putting all members of the House of Representatives for re-election and one-third of the Senate up.

In Pennsylvania, you can register to vote online through a simple application process. It will ask your name, address, party affiliation, drivers license number or social security number and a few other small minor details. It is a relatively quick process that allows the voter registration card wielder to determine the political action of this nation.

The change you want to see will not happen from the top and trickle down. You can log on to www.pavoterservices.pa.gov to get the necessary information to vote. Be a decision maker in the future of this country. Go vote!
