The popular band My Chemical Romance, had a reunion show in Los Angeles, California on Dec. 20th.

This was their first show since 2013 when they announced that they would be splitting up.

The alternative rock band consisting of members Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Frank Iero, and Ray Toro formed in 2001 and would go on to be one of the best-selling bands in their genre.

Many fans were heartbroken after the band announced its breakup in 2013. On Oct. 31st they announced their reunion show at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. This band’s first show since 2012.

According to the Alternative Press, tickets for the reunion show went on sale Nov. 1st at 3 pm (EST) and sold out within minutes, leaving many fans without a chance to go to the show.

Ticket prices started at $150 each and currently range from one thousand dollars up to five thousand dollars.

“I am very excited, I got into the band right after they broke up,” says Christopher Kennedy, a second-year media production student at NCC. “Now I might have the opportunity to see them and buy a new album if they release one. Overall, I’m just looking forward to seeing what will happen”.

Although no more tour dates have been announced for the United States, My Chemical Romance’s official website has announced that they will be performing in Australia’s Download Festival. This is set to take place at the Melbourne Showgrounds on March 20th and Sydney’s Parramatta Park on March 21st. They have also announced another show on March 25th at the Outer Fields in Western Springs, New Zealand. Possible future tour dates are yet to be announced.

“If they came to Philadelphia, I would definitely go see them, I think it sounds like a blast,” says Victoria Aten, a second-year media production student at NCC. “Especially after they’ve been apart for this long. I just never thought I would get the chance to see them.”

While details are sparse on future plans for My Chemical Romance, the future is looking hopeful with multiple shows lined up following the reunion.
