Board of Trustees takes action

From the college:

On March 6 NCC’s Board of Trustees met to discuss upcoming plans for the college:

1) The Board approved promotions for 11 members of our faculty. Their names will be announced after they are formally notified of the Board’s action. Then we can extend appropriate congratulations!

2) The Board approved a bond issue that will enable us to build the new residence hall, move forward with the strategic initiative of leading in technology by upgrading our infrastructure, and address deferred maintenance, especially in regards to roofs and parking lot resurfacing on the Main Campus.

3) The Board approved a plan to relocate the bookstore on the Main Campus to the space currently occupied by Central Duplicating. As many of you know, the current bookstore is too small to serve students’ needs well. In addition to being larger, the new bookstore will offer a wider selection of textbooks (for sale, rent, and online), educational supplies and apparel. It will also include space for Pennsylvania State Employee’s Federal Credit Union (PSECU) – — a convenience for students and employees alike. Central Duplicating will move to the space where the old racquetball courts are. A few faculty offices will need to be relocated. We will work with those faculty members individually. These renovations will begin this spring and will be completed by the start of the fall semester.

We are fortunate to have a Board that appreciates the caliber of Northampton’s faculty and staff and that is as committed as we are to serving students well. If you see our trustees, let them know how much we appreciate them!
