Director of Athletics Troy Tucker has announced the hiring of Jessica Omick as the head coach of the women’s volleyball program. Omick, who made two trips to the NJCAA national tournament as a member of the volleyball team, began her position on June 8.
A 2018 graduate of Northampton, the Spartans went 57-9 during Omick’s tenure, including 2 Region XIX championships and 2 NJCAA District titles.
Omick moved on to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in marketing in May 2020.
In addition to her playing career, Omick also gained coaching experience, serving as an Assistant Coach for the East Coast Power club volleyball team from 2016 thru 2017.
“I’m looking forward to Jess taking over the program,” stated Tucker, “as a former Spartan student-athlete, she understands the expectations at Northampton and has seen the success that the volleyball program is capable of.”
