FROM THE COLLEGE
Acclaimed poet Jimmy Santiago Baca will visit NCC for its annual Len Roberts Poetry Day reading on Thursday, April 11, with programs at the Main and Monroe campuses.
Baca learned to read and write in prison, transforming himself into an internationally known author, activist, motivator, teacher and “poet of the people.”
He will read his work from 11 a.m. to noon in Lipkin Theatre in Kopecek Hall on the Main campus and from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Monroe.
Admission is free to the public.
The poetry day honors the memory of the late Len Roberts, poet and NCC professor of English.
